I remember being so happy when I recognized this song on a Taxi episode in syndication.  And now that I'm a generation older than Joel was when he wrote the song, I can answer sometimes you can get what you want and just get old.  But its theme of a restless adolescent trying to do everything too quickly does ricochet off "Italian Restaurant."  This isn't quite a theme-album but it sort of is, the way the songs form a dialogue with each other.  (Yes, a clever conversation if you will.)
