About a decade after The Stranger came out, I stumbled across an imperfect amateur recording of the album (like at a yard sale), and played it almost to death.  This isn't that tape.  I tossed that tape last weekend, because the ex put the whole album onto a mix-tape in 1998 and I trust his engineering skills at 30 more.  He was there for many of those playings, and we even had a favorite Italian restaurant that made us think of the album.  But this song also makes me recall times when I "moved out."  And, even though I haven't listened to it in years, the polysyllabic lyrics came back to me.  I still have a big soft spot for this story-song, car sound effects and all.
