This was unsurprisingly not a hit single (it did reach #52), not just because it is well beyond the verge of being obscene but because it's just not as a good song. Prince is more fun when he has thin metaphors and, at almost seven and a half minutes, this goes on too long, although thankfully not until morning.
This is, incidentally, the 900th song/sound on this blog.
