I don't give A's lightly.  (I don't even give out many A-s.)  But this is as close to perfect as a rock song that isn't about any love but self-love can be, from the lyrics (so many quotable lines, but the verse "Lucky I'm sane after all I've been through/ (Everybody say, 'I'm cool,' 'He's cool')/ I can't complain but sometimes I still do/ Life's been good to me so far" probably wins) to the way it smoothly cycles through what feels like every type of late '70s pop and rock, to its sunny look at cynicism and decadence.  I'm not a partier but this has been my song since I was a kid.
