1970s Top Forty

We aren't really done with the '70s yet, as there will be more Best Ofs, and eventually mix-tapes to factor in.  But here's what I have so far, with the top two having received A-s, the next eleven B+s, and everything else one of the better B's:

ETA: Since I just (9/27/20) reviewed a 1977-90 Toto CD, I have to move its B+, 1978's "Hold the Line" into the the No. 14 spot, sorry, "Disco Queen."

ETA: The 1992 Al Stewart Best Of (reviewed on 10/18/20) has "Year of the Cat," which is an A- that goes in the number 3 slot, pushing "Loves Me Like a Rock" off the chart.

ETA: The 1996 Dr. Demento collection for the late '70s (reviewed on 11/15/20) has "Fish Heads," a B+ that I would put at No. 11.  Once again, sorry, Paul Simon, this time for pushing off "Mother and Child Reunion," but you've still got a lot left in the Top 40.

ETA: 12/31/20 Now that I'm getting to the '70s on mix-tapes, "Ballroom Blitz" bursts in and becomes the B+ between "Cheese and Onions" and "Helen Wheels," blitzing "Fly Like an Eagle" off the list.

ETA: 1/1/21 10cc's 1976 soft-rock classic "The Things We Do for Love" gently snuggles in between "Helen Wheels" and "Hand Me Down World" and blows a kiss goodbye to "Mr. Blue Sky."  

ETA: Later on New Year's Day, good God, Joe Walsh's "Life's Been Good to Me," from the FM (1978) soundtrack, gets a rare A from me.  "Turn to Stone" falls out of the Top Forty like a rock.

ETA: 1/3/21 Supertramp's "Breakfast in America" lands just below "Ballroom Blitz," so "Jungle Love" falls out.

ETA: 1/10/21 Thanks to the complete Stranger album on a mix-tape, I will move in "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)" between "The Things We Do for Love" and "Hand Me Down World," while "Just the Way You Are" is below Joel's "Honesty," and "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" precedes "Cheese and Onions."  Thus, "Merry-Go-Round," "Living in Hope," and "Chevy's Girls" are moving out.
