"Ahh...the Name is Bootsy, Baby"
Bootsy's Rubber Band
Featured on Ahh... The Name Is Bootsy, Baby!
Warner Bros.
Originally released January 15, 1977
Funk
Vinyl (probably original copy)

The title track is one wacky but mellow jam, with everything from a heavy metal version of "Auld Lang Syne" to a voice that sounds like Elmo before Sesame Street. The story behind my purchase of this album (in the late '80s I believe) is I looked at that cover, with all the stars, the adoring fans, the misspellings of "Bootsy," and thought This Bootsy guy must have a hell of an ego. But there's definitely a sense of humor here. And, yeah, this is ultra-funk, from the George Clinton production on out.
