B+
It is this rather than "In My Life" or "Yesterday" that made me tear up a little, this poignant rocking tune with JOHN & PAUL johnandpauling the hell out of lyrics like "Life is very short, and there's no time for fussing and fighting, My Friend" and "While you see it your way, there's a chance that we might fall apart before too long." Even without knowing their then-future, that just guts me, Man! The song is about a falling apart romance (Paul & Jane Asher) and about the growing generation gap and about just about every human interaction, yes, more than ever in 2020. But it's also, damn, this is why I love the Beatles and wish they were always this good, or better.
This "butcher shop" of tunes ranges from C+ to B+, averaging out to just on the B side of the B-/B border. I've gotta admit they were getting better (although they could've got much, much worse).
