"The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)"
Simon & Garfunkel
Featured on Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme
Columbia
Released October 10, 1966
Folk Rock
Vinyl
B
Speaking of that concert in Central Park, one of my favorite moments is when the by then middle-aged Paul & Art got to "feelin' groovy" and tried not to crack up. Even in '66, this has a sweet, innocent sound that is a surprise among some of the Modern Satire and Angst. Plus, it remains my favorite "interchangeable song," with Allan Sherman's "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah." (Try it sometime.)
