So you know the story, but allow me to recount it.  The Beatles resented Capitol butchering their albums and so they commissioned the "butcher" cover, which ironically would be covered up by "McCartney in a trunk," one of the "Paul is dead" clues.  No doubt the title of this song (sliced off the British Revolver) would make good evidence, too, although it is very much a John song.  With its subject matter and backmasking, it is a lovely float downstream, and, yes, I think the first genuinely psychedelic rock song I've reviewed thus far.  John would himself do an answer song in 1980, "Watching the Wheels" ("People say I'm lazy, dreaming my life away").
