More of that John & Paul push & pull tension, like in "We Can Work It Out," here with John's "It can't get no worse" and the part about being "mean" to "his woman." It was no doubt at the time probably seen as an observation on '67, the last year when optimism, albeit cautious optimism, was plausible.
